Why I Started LinkHubJin: My Journey as a BIM Engineer, Father, and Lifelong Learner

Some of the best ideas come to me late at night.

After my two kids finally fall asleep and the house goes quiet, I usually end up sitting in front of my laptop, thinking back over the day. By profession, I'm a BIM engineer working on large infrastructure projects here in Singapore. But underneath that, I'm just a husband and a father trying to build something better for his family.

Over the years I've noticed that the things I pick up through work, through technology, through living abroad — they tend to be useful to other people too. Maybe you're an engineer looking for smarter ways to work, a parent juggling career and family, or someone thinking about starting a new life overseas. If so, I hope something here saves you time, answers a question, or nudges you toward your next step.

That's the whole reason LinkHubJin exists.

What You'll Find Here

AI & Technology That Solves Real Problems

I don't think of AI as some distant, complicated technology. To me it's just a practical tool — one that helps me get through work faster so I have more time left for the people who actually matter.

I'll be writing about how I actually use tools like Gemini, automation, Python, and other digital workflows to get more done, both at work and in everyday life.

Life Abroad, Career Growth & Relocation

Living and working in Singapore has completely reshaped how I think about my career and my future.

I want to write honestly about working overseas, life here, career decisions, and where my family's headed next — whether that ends up being Australia, Malaysia, or somewhere we haven't even considered yet. Rather than polishing this into some success story, I'd rather document what's actually happened: the mistakes, the small wins, all of it.

Parenting, Family & Everyday Living

Becoming a father changed how I make decisions, full stop.

I think a lot harder now about the products we use, the food our kids eat, the environment they're growing up in. Whenever I find something genuinely worth using — a family product, a parenting tip, anything that makes daily life a little easier — I'll write about it here.

More Than Just Another Blog

LinkHubJin isn't just somewhere I post articles.

It's more of a running record — of me as an engineer, a father, someone who thinks technology should make life simpler, not more complicated.

If any of this helps you solve something at work, make a better call for your family, or just gives you a little more confidence to go after something new, then this blog's already done its job.

Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you'll stick around as I keep sharing what I'm learning — one project, one story at a time.

— Jin
